About the artist - Stein Mapas

For 30 years creating and developing a unique technique for making 100% handmade maps.

Born in Brazil, Francisco Stein transforms maps into true works of art made entirely by hand.

His passion for History and Geography made him a reference in the modality and it can take from 300 hours to months to compose each map.

Every work is scanned in high resolution and printed on polyester film, the same used in the original, resulting in a fine art canvas with few differences in nuances in relation to it.

Working as a Mechanical Designer for a long time, he acquired knowledge and skills to work with clipboards, India ink and polyester, essential for what would be his future profession: artist.

A unique artist, recognized worldwide for his skill in handcrafted maps.

Allied to all this, Francisco Stein taught history classes for a few years and discovered that it was unthinkable to talk about history without having a map to demonstrate where the facts were. unfolded. He was in the habit of making sketches on the blackboard, then with sketches of maps made on tracing paper to present in his classes, he discovered a significant increase in the students' interest in the subject, this habit turned into talent and talents are called gifts.

All this ended up turning into a pleasant hobby, and today it has become his most beloved craft.

The artist in his career years designed a series of maps that will now be transformed into special images treating his different customers differently, “his favorite map, for map fans”.

Now in special and different products: large beer mugs, small beer mugs, squezzes, porcelain mugs, plastic canvas maps, cushion covers, certainly an excellent gift and/or to start a magnificent collection.
